أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَبِهِ أَثَرُ صُفْرَةٍ فَسَأَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «كَمْ سُقْتَ إِلَيْهَا» قَالَ زِنَةُ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ»
English Translation
Hadrat Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that Hadrat Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf (may Allah be well pleased with him) came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with traces of yellow perfume. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) asked him, and he informed him that he had married a woman from the Ansar. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated to him: "How much did you give her as dowry?" He said: "The weight of a date-stone of gold." The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Give a wedding feast, even if only with one sheep."
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس آئے اور ان پر زردی کا نشان تھا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے پوچھا تو انہوں نے بتایا کہ انہوں نے انصار کی ایک عورت سے نکاح کیا ہے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «تم نے اسے کتنا مہر دیا؟» انہوں نے عرض کیا: ایک گٹھلی کے برابر سونا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «ولیمہ کرو خواہ ایک بکری ہی سے ہو۔»
