أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ صَلَاةً فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ إِذَا هُوَ بِرَجُلَيْنِ فِي مُؤَخَّرِ النَّاسِ فَأَمَرَ فَجِيءَ بِهِمَا تُرْعَدُ فَرَائِصُهُمَا فَقَالَ لَهُمَا «مَا حَمَلَكُمَا عَلَى أَنْ لَا تُصَلِّيَا مَعَنْا» قَالَا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّيْنَا فِي رِحَالِنَا ثُمَّ أَقْبَلْنَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمَا فِي رِحَالِكُمَا ثُمَّ أَدْرَكْتُمَا الصَّلَاةَ فَصَلِّيَا فَإِنَّهَا لَكُمَا نَافِلَةٌ»
English Translation
Yazid bin al-Aswad narrated: The Prophet ﷺ prayed a prayer. When he finished his prayer, there were two men at the back of the people. He commanded that they be brought to him, and their limbs were trembling. He said to them: 'What made you not pray with us?' They said: 'O Prophet of Allah, we prayed in our camps, then we came.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'When you have prayed in your camps and then you catch the prayer, pray, for it is a voluntary prayer for you.'
