Hadrat 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated an extensive report about the Dajjal, in which he said: People shall split into three groups at his emergence — a group that follows him, a group that joins their families in the places where wormwood grows, and a group that takes the bank of this Euphrates and fights him while he fights them, until they are killed in western Syria. They shall send out a scouting party with a chestnut or piebald horse, and they shall fight and none of them shall return. He said: Abu Sadiq informed me from Rabi'ah ibn Najidh that it is a chestnut horse. He said: The People of the Book claim that the Messiah (upon him be peace) shall descend and kill him, and Gog and Magog shall emerge — "from every elevation descending" [al-Anbiya' 21:96]. Allah shall send upon them a creature like a worm that shall enter their ears and nostrils, and they shall die. The earth shall stink from them, and people shall cry out to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and He shall send water that shall cleanse the earth of them. Then Allah shall send a freezing cold wind, and it shall not leave any believer on the earth except that wind shall be sufficient for him. Then the Hour shall come upon the worst of people. Then an angel shall stand with the Trumpet between the heaven and the earth and blow it — none of Allah's creation in the heavens and earth shall remain except that they shall die, except whom your Lord wills. Then between the two blowings shall be whatever Allah wills — and there is no son of Adam but that something of him remains in the earth. Then Allah shall send water from beneath the Throne like the semen of men, and their flesh and bodies shall sprout as the earth sprouts from rainfall. Then 'Abdullah recited: "It is Allah Who sends the winds, and they stir up clouds, and We drive them to a dead land" until he reached "Likewise is the Resurrection" [Fatir 35:9]. Then an angel shall stand with the Trumpet between heaven and earth and blow it, and every soul shall go to its body and enter it. They shall stand and come forth as one man, standing before the Lord of the Worlds. [The narration continues with a lengthy description of the gathering, the intercession, the Sirat, and the people of Paradise and Hell.]

حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے دجال کے بارے میں ایک طویل روایت مروی ہے جس میں فرمایا: اس کے نکلنے پر لوگ تین گروہوں میں بٹ جائیں گے — ایک گروہ اس کے پیچھے لگے گا، ایک اپنے گھر والوں سے جا ملے گا شیح کے اگنے کی جگہوں میں، اور ایک فرات کے کنارے پر ہوگا اس سے لڑے گا اور وہ ان سے لڑے گا یہاں تک کہ شام کے مغرب میں قتل ہوں گے۔ وہ ایک جاسوسی دستہ بھیجیں گے جس میں ایک سرخ یا ابلق گھوڑا ہوگا — لڑیں گے اور اُن میں سے کوئی واپس نہ آئے گا۔ ابوصادق نے ربیعہ بن ناجذ سے بتایا کہ وہ سرخ گھوڑا ہے۔ فرمایا: اہلِ کتاب کا دعویٰ ہے کہ مسیح علیہ السلام اتریں گے اور اسے قتل کریں گے، اور یاجوج ماجوج نکلیں گے {ہر ٹیلے سے دوڑتے ہوئے} [الانبیاء: ۹۶]۔ اللہ تعالیٰ اُن پر ایک کیڑا بھیجے گا جیسے ناک کا کیڑا جو ان کے کانوں اور ناکوں میں گھسے گا اور وہ مر جائیں گے۔ زمین اُن سے بدبودار ہو جائے گی، لوگ اللہ عزوجل سے فریاد کریں گے، وہ پانی بھیجے گا جو زمین کو ان سے صاف کرے گا۔ پھر اللہ ایک زمہریر ٹھنڈی ہوا بھیجے گا — زمین پر کوئی مومن نہ رہے گا مگر وہ ہوا اسے کفایت کر لے گی۔ پھر بدترین لوگوں پر قیامت آئے گی۔ پھر ایک فرشتہ صور لے کر آسمان اور زمین کے درمیان کھڑا ہوگا اور پھونکے گا — آسمانوں اور زمین میں اللہ کی مخلوق میں سے کوئی نہ بچے گا مگر مر جائے گا سوائے جسے تمہارا رب چاہے۔ پھر دو پھونکوں کے درمیان جتنا اللہ چاہے — اور آدم کی اولاد میں سے کوئی نہیں مگر زمین میں اس کا کچھ نہ کچھ ہے۔ پھر اللہ عرش کے نیچے سے پانی بھیجے گا مردوں کی منی جیسا — ان کا گوشت اور جسم ایسے اگے گا جیسے بارش سے زمین اگتی ہے۔ پھر عبداللہ نے تلاوت کی: {اللہ ہی ہے جو ہوائیں بھیجتا ہے تو بادل اٹھاتی ہیں} یہاں تک کہ {اسی طرح نشور ہے} [فاطر: ۹]۔ پھر ایک فرشتہ صور لے کر آسمان و زمین کے درمیان کھڑا ہوگا اور پھونکے گا — ہر روح اپنے جسم کی طرف جائے گی اور اس میں داخل ہوگی — سب کھڑے ہوں گے اور ایک آدمی کی طرح آئیں گے، رب العالمین کے حضور۔ [روایت آگے حشر، شفاعت، صراط، اور اہلِ جنت و جہنم کی تفصیلات پر مشتمل ہے۔]
