Hadrat al-Nawwas ibn Sam'an al-Kilabi (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) mentioned the Dajjal one morning, speaking of him at length — sometimes lowering his voice, sometimes raising it — until we thought he was in a grove of palm trees. When we went to the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in the evening, he perceived that in us and asked: "What is the matter with you?" We submitted: O Messenger of Allah, you mentioned the Dajjal this morning, speaking at length, until we thought he was in a grove of palm trees. He stated: "Other than the Dajjal, there are things I fear more for you. If he emerges while I am among you, then I shall be his adversary on your behalf. If he emerges when I am not among you, then every man shall be his own adversary, and Allah is my successor over every Muslim. He is a young man with curly hair, his beard standing out, resembling al-Uzza ibn Qatan. Whoever among you encounters him, let him recite the opening verses of Surah al-Kahf." Then he stated: "I see him emerging between Syria and Iraq, wreaking havoc to the right and to the left. O servants of Allah, stand firm!" We submitted: O Messenger of Allah, how long shall he remain on the earth? He stated: "Forty days — a day like a year, a day like a month, a day like a week, and the rest of his days like your days." We submitted: O Messenger of Allah, on that day which is like a year, will the prayers of a single day suffice us? He stated: "No, estimate its measure." We submitted: O Messenger of Allah, how swift shall his travel be on the earth? He stated: "Like rain driven by the wind." He stated: "He shall come to a people and call them, and they shall believe in him and respond to him. He shall command the sky and it shall rain, and command the earth and it shall sprout, and their livestock shall return in the evening taller than ever in their udders, with fuller flanks. Then he shall come to another people and call them, but they shall reject his speech. He shall depart from them, and their wealth shall follow him, and they shall find themselves destitute with nothing in their hands. He shall pass by ruins and say to them: 'Bring forth your treasures,' and its treasures shall follow him like swarms of bees. Then he shall summon a young Muslim man and strike him with the sword, cutting him in two pieces as far apart as a target, then call him back, and the young man shall come forward, his face beaming and laughing. While he is doing this, Allah the Exalted shall send Isa ibn Maryam, who shall descend at the white minaret east of Damascus, wearing two garments dyed with saffron, his hands resting upon the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, drops shall fall, and when he raises it, pearls like jewels shall cascade from him. No disbeliever who encounters his breath shall survive — his breath reaching as far as his sight. He shall pursue the Dajjal until he catches him at the gate of Ludd, and Allah shall slay him. Then Isa ibn Maryam (upon him be peace), the Prophet of Allah, shall come to a people whom Allah protected from him, and he shall wipe their faces and tell them of their ranks in Paradise. While they are in that state, Allah shall reveal to him: 'O Isa, I have brought forth servants of Mine whom no one has the power to fight. Shelter My servants at Mount Tur.' Allah shall then send Gog and Magog, and they shall swarm from every elevation. The first of them shall pass by the Lake of Tiberias and drink all that is in it, then the last of them shall pass by it and say: 'There was once water here.' The Prophet of Allah Isa and his companions shall be besieged until the head of an ox on that day shall be more valuable to them than a hundred dinars to you today. The Prophet of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his companions shall beseech Allah (glorified and exalted is He), and Allah shall send the naghaf (parasitic worms) upon their necks, and they shall all perish as one. The Prophet of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his companions shall descend and find not a hand-span of ground except that it is filled with their grease, stench, and blood. The Prophet of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his companions shall beseech Allah, and He shall send birds with necks like Bactrian camels that shall carry them and cast them wherever He wills. Then Allah shall send rain from which no house of mud or hair shall be sheltered, and it shall wash the earth until it is left like a mirror. Then He shall say to the earth: 'Bring forth your fruit and restore your blessing.' On that day, a group shall eat from a single pomegranate and shelter under its rind. Milk shall be blessed so that a single she-camel shall suffice a large group of people, a single cow shall suffice a tribe, and a single ewe shall suffice a clan. While they are in that state, Allah shall send a pleasant wind that shall take them beneath their armpits, seizing the soul of every Muslim, while the rest of the people shall remain committing lewdness with one another like donkeys, and upon them the Hour shall come." This is a hadith whose chain of transmission is authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim), though they did not record it.

حضرت نوّاس بن سمعان کلابی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ایک صبح دجال کا ذکر فرمایا اور اس میں بہت تفصیل سے بات کی — کبھی آواز دھیمی کرتے کبھی بلند — یہاں تک کہ ہم نے سمجھا وہ کھجوروں کے باغ میں ہے۔ جب ہم شام کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس آئے تو آپ نے ہماری کیفیت بھانپ لی اور فرمایا: «تمہیں کیا ہوا؟» ہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ نے صبح دجال کا ذکر فرمایا اور بہت تفصیل فرمائی یہاں تک کہ ہم نے سمجھا وہ کھجوروں کے باغ میں ہے۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «دجال کے علاوہ بھی کچھ چیزیں ہیں جن سے مجھے تمہارے بارے میں زیادہ خوف ہے۔ اگر وہ نکلا اور میں تمہارے درمیان ہوا تو میں تمہاری طرف سے اس کا مقابلہ کروں گا۔ اور اگر وہ نکلا اور میں تمہارے درمیان نہ ہوا تو ہر شخص خود اپنا مدافع ہوگا اور اللہ ہر مسلمان پر میرا خلیفہ ہے۔ وہ ایک گھنگریالے بالوں والا نوجوان ہے، اس کی داڑھی کھڑی ہوئی ہے، گویا وہ عزّیٰ بن قطن کی مانند ہے۔ تم میں سے جو اسے دیکھے وہ سورۃ الکہف کی ابتدائی آیات پڑھے۔» پھر فرمایا: «میں سمجھتا ہوں وہ شام اور عراق کے درمیان سے نکلے گا اور دائیں بائیں فساد مچائے گا۔ اے اللہ کے بندو! ثابت قدم رہو!» ہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! زمین پر اس کا قیام کتنا ہوگا؟ فرمایا: «چالیس دن — ایک دن سال کے برابر، ایک دن مہینے کے برابر، ایک دن ہفتے کے برابر، اور باقی دن تمہارے دنوں کی طرح۔» ہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! جو دن سال کے برابر ہوگا، کیا اس میں ایک دن کی نمازیں کافی ہوں گی؟ فرمایا: «نہیں، اس کا اندازہ لگاؤ۔» ہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! زمین میں اس کی رفتار کیسی ہوگی؟ فرمایا: «اس بارش کی طرح جسے ہوا پیچھے سے دھکیلے۔» فرمایا: «وہ ایک قوم کے پاس آئے گا اور انہیں بلائے گا، وہ اس پر ایمان لائیں گے اور اس کی بات مانیں گے۔ وہ آسمان کو حکم دے گا تو بارش ہوگی اور زمین کو حکم دے گا تو اگائے گی، اور ان کے مویشی شام کو پہلے سے زیادہ بھرے تھنوں اور بڑے پیٹوں والے واپس آئیں گے۔ پھر وہ دوسری قوم کے پاس آئے گا اور انہیں بلائے گا، لیکن وہ اس کی بات رد کر دیں گے۔ وہ ان سے لوٹ جائے گا تو ان کا مال اس کے پیچھے چلا جائے گا اور وہ خالی ہاتھ ہو جائیں گے۔ پھر وہ ایک ویرانے سے گزرے گا اور کہے گا: اپنے خزانے نکال! تو اس کے خزانے شہد کی مکھیوں کی طرح اس کے پیچھے آئیں گے۔ پھر وہ ایک مسلمان نوجوان کو بلائے گا اور اسے تلوار سے دو ٹکڑے کر دے گا، پھر بلائے گا تو وہ نوجوان چمکتے چہرے اور ہنستے ہوئے آئے گا۔ وہ اسی حال میں ہوگا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ عیسیٰ ابن مریم کو بھیجے گا، وہ دمشق کے مشرق میں سفید مینار کے پاس زعفرانی رنگ کے دو کپڑوں میں دو فرشتوں کے پروں پر ہاتھ رکھے ہوئے اتریں گے۔ جب سر جھکائیں تو قطرے گریں اور جب اٹھائیں تو موتیوں جیسے دانے جھڑیں۔ کوئی کافر ان کی سانسوں کی ہوا پائے تو مر جائے — ان کی سانس وہاں تک پہنچے جہاں تک نظر جائے۔ وہ دجال کا پیچھا کریں گے یہاں تک کہ لُدّ کے دروازے پر پکڑ لیں گے اور اللہ اسے ہلاک کر دے گا۔ پھر عیسیٰ ابن مریم علیہ السلام اللہ کے نبی ایک قوم کے پاس آئیں گے جنہیں اللہ نے اس سے بچایا ہوگا، ان کے چہرے مسح کریں گے اور جنت میں ان کے درجات بتائیں گے۔ وہ اسی حال میں ہوں گے کہ اللہ ان پر وحی فرمائے گا: اے عیسیٰ! میں نے ایسے بندے نکالے ہیں جن سے لڑنے کی کسی میں طاقت نہیں۔ میرے بندوں کو طور پہاڑ پر محفوظ کر لے۔ اللہ یاجوج و ماجوج کو بھیجے گا جو ہر بلندی سے اترتے آئیں گے۔ ان میں سے پہلے طبریہ کی جھیل سے گزریں گے اور سارا پانی پی جائیں گے، پھر آخری گزریں گے اور کہیں گے: یہاں کبھی پانی تھا۔ اللہ کے نبی عیسیٰ اور ان کے ساتھی محصور ہوں گے یہاں تک کہ ان کے لیے ایک بیل کا سر اس دن سو دینار سے بہتر ہوگا۔ اللہ کے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور ان کے ساتھی اللہ عزوجل سے دعا کریں گے تو اللہ ان کی گردنوں میں کیڑے بھیجے گا اور وہ سب ایک ہی وقت میں مر جائیں گے۔ اللہ کے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور ان کے ساتھی نیچے اتریں گے تو بالشت بھر جگہ بھی ان کی چربی، بدبو اور خون سے خالی نہ پائیں گے۔ اللہ کے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور ان کے ساتھی اللہ سے دعا کریں گے تو اللہ بختی اونٹوں جیسی گردنوں والے پرندے بھیجے گا جو انہیں اٹھا کر جہاں اللہ چاہے پھینک دیں گے۔ پھر اللہ ایسی بارش بھیجے گا جس سے مٹی کا گھر ہو یا بالوں کا خیمہ، کوئی نہ بچے گا، اور وہ زمین کو دھو ڈالے گی یہاں تک کہ شیشے کی طرح صاف ہو جائے۔ پھر زمین سے فرمائے گا: اپنا پھل نکال اور اپنی برکت لوٹا دے۔ اس دن ایک جماعت ایک انار سے کھائے گی اور اس کے چھلکے کے نیچے سایہ لے گی۔ دودھ میں اتنی برکت ہوگی کہ ایک اونٹنی لوگوں کی ایک بڑی جماعت کو کافی ہوگی، ایک گائے ایک قبیلے کو کافی ہوگی، اور ایک بکری ایک خاندان کو کافی ہوگی۔ وہ اسی حال میں ہوں گے کہ اللہ ایک خوشگوار ہوا بھیجے گا جو ان کی بغلوں سے آئے گی اور ہر مسلمان کی روح قبض کر لے گی اور باقی لوگ بچ رہیں گے جو آپس میں گدھوں کی طرح بدکاری کریں گے، اور انہی پر قیامت قائم ہوگی۔» یہ حدیث بخاری و مسلم کی شرط پر صحیح ہے مگر انہوں نے اسے روایت نہیں کیا۔

حضرت نوّاس بن سمعان کلابی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ایک صبح دجال کا ذکر فرمایا اور اس میں بہت تفصیل سے بات کی — کبھی آواز دھیمی کرتے کبھی بلند — یہاں تک کہ ہم نے سمجھا وہ کھجوروں کے باغ میں ہے۔ جب ہم شام کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس آئے تو آپ نے ہماری کیفیت بھانپ لی اور فرمایا: «تمہیں کیا ہوا؟» ہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ نے صبح دجال کا ذکر فرمایا اور بہت تفصیل فرمائی یہاں تک کہ ہم نے سمجھا وہ کھجوروں کے باغ میں ہے۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «دجال کے علاوہ بھی کچھ چیزیں ہیں جن سے مجھے تمہارے بارے میں زیادہ خوف ہے۔ اگر وہ نکلا اور میں تمہارے درمیان ہوا تو میں تمہاری طرف سے اس کا مقابلہ کروں گا۔ اور اگر وہ نکلا اور میں تمہارے درمیان نہ ہوا تو ہر شخص خود اپنا مدافع ہوگا اور اللہ ہر مسلمان پر میرا خلیفہ ہے۔ وہ ایک گھنگریالے بالوں والا نوجوان ہے، اس کی داڑھی کھڑی ہوئی ہے، گویا وہ عزّیٰ بن قطن کی مانند ہے۔ تم میں سے جو اسے دیکھے وہ سورۃ الکہف کی ابتدائی آیات پڑھے۔» پھر فرمایا: «میں سمجھتا ہوں وہ شام اور عراق کے درمیان سے نکلے گا اور دائیں بائیں فساد مچائے گا۔ اے اللہ کے بندو! ثابت قدم رہو!» ہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! زمین پر اس کا قیام کتنا ہوگا؟ فرمایا: «چالیس دن — ایک دن سال کے برابر، ایک دن مہینے کے برابر، ایک دن ہفتے کے برابر، اور باقی دن تمہارے دنوں کی طرح۔» ہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! جو دن سال کے برابر ہوگا، کیا اس میں ایک دن کی نمازیں کافی ہوں گی؟ فرمایا: «نہیں، اس کا اندازہ لگاؤ۔» ہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! زمین میں اس کی رفتار کیسی ہوگی؟ فرمایا: «اس بارش کی طرح جسے ہوا پیچھے سے دھکیلے۔» فرمایا: «وہ ایک قوم کے پاس آئے گا اور انہیں بلائے گا، وہ اس پر ایمان لائیں گے اور اس کی بات مانیں گے۔ وہ آسمان کو حکم دے گا تو بارش ہوگی اور زمین کو حکم دے گا تو اگائے گی، اور ان کے مویشی شام کو پہلے سے زیادہ بھرے تھنوں اور بڑے پیٹوں والے واپس آئیں گے۔ پھر وہ دوسری قوم کے پاس آئے گا اور انہیں بلائے گا، لیکن وہ اس کی بات رد کر دیں گے۔ وہ ان سے لوٹ جائے گا تو ان کا مال اس کے پیچھے چلا جائے گا اور وہ خالی ہاتھ ہو جائیں گے۔ پھر وہ ایک ویرانے سے گزرے گا اور کہے گا: اپنے خزانے نکال! تو اس کے خزانے شہد کی مکھیوں کی طرح اس کے پیچھے آئیں گے۔ پھر وہ ایک مسلمان نوجوان کو بلائے گا اور اسے تلوار سے دو ٹکڑے کر دے گا، پھر بلائے گا تو وہ نوجوان چمکتے چہرے اور ہنستے ہوئے آئے گا۔ وہ اسی حال میں ہوگا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ عیسیٰ ابن مریم کو بھیجے گا، وہ دمشق کے مشرق میں سفید مینار کے پاس زعفرانی رنگ کے دو کپڑوں میں دو فرشتوں کے پروں پر ہاتھ رکھے ہوئے اتریں گے۔ جب سر جھکائیں تو قطرے گریں اور جب اٹھائیں تو موتیوں جیسے دانے جھڑیں۔ کوئی کافر ان کی سانسوں کی ہوا پائے تو مر جائے — ان کی سانس وہاں تک پہنچے جہاں تک نظر جائے۔ وہ دجال کا پیچھا کریں گے یہاں تک کہ لُدّ کے دروازے پر پکڑ لیں گے اور اللہ اسے ہلاک کر دے گا۔ پھر عیسیٰ ابن مریم علیہ السلام اللہ کے نبی ایک قوم کے پاس آئیں گے جنہیں اللہ نے اس سے بچایا ہوگا، ان کے چہرے مسح کریں گے اور جنت میں ان کے درجات بتائیں گے۔ وہ اسی حال میں ہوں گے کہ اللہ ان پر وحی فرمائے گا: اے عیسیٰ! میں نے ایسے بندے نکالے ہیں جن سے لڑنے کی کسی میں طاقت نہیں۔ میرے بندوں کو طور پہاڑ پر محفوظ کر لے۔ اللہ یاجوج و ماجوج کو بھیجے گا جو ہر بلندی سے اترتے آئیں گے۔ ان میں سے پہلے طبریہ کی جھیل سے گزریں گے اور سارا پانی پی جائیں گے، پھر آخری گزریں گے اور کہیں گے: یہاں کبھی پانی تھا۔ اللہ کے نبی عیسیٰ اور ان کے ساتھی محصور ہوں گے یہاں تک کہ ان کے لیے ایک بیل کا سر اس دن سو دینار سے بہتر ہوگا۔ اللہ کے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور ان کے ساتھی اللہ عزوجل سے دعا کریں گے تو اللہ ان کی گردنوں میں کیڑے بھیجے گا اور وہ سب ایک ہی وقت میں مر جائیں گے۔ اللہ کے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور ان کے ساتھی نیچے اتریں گے تو بالشت بھر جگہ بھی ان کی چربی، بدبو اور خون سے خالی نہ پائیں گے۔ اللہ کے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور ان کے ساتھی اللہ سے دعا کریں گے تو اللہ بختی اونٹوں جیسی گردنوں والے پرندے بھیجے گا جو انہیں اٹھا کر جہاں اللہ چاہے پھینک دیں گے۔ پھر اللہ ایسی بارش بھیجے گا جس سے مٹی کا گھر ہو یا بالوں کا خیمہ، کوئی نہ بچے گا، اور وہ زمین کو دھو ڈالے گی یہاں تک کہ شیشے کی طرح صاف ہو جائے۔ پھر زمین سے فرمائے گا: اپنا پھل نکال اور اپنی برکت لوٹا دے۔ اس دن ایک جماعت ایک انار سے کھائے گی اور اس کے چھلکے کے نیچے سایہ لے گی۔ دودھ میں اتنی برکت ہوگی کہ ایک اونٹنی لوگوں کی ایک بڑی جماعت کو کافی ہوگی، ایک گائے ایک قبیلے کو کافی ہوگی، اور ایک بکری ایک خاندان کو کافی ہوگی۔ وہ اسی حال میں ہوں گے کہ اللہ ایک خوشگوار ہوا بھیجے گا جو ان کی بغلوں سے آئے گی اور ہر مسلمان کی روح قبض کر لے گی اور باقی لوگ بچ رہیں گے جو آپس میں گدھوں کی طرح بدکاری کریں گے، اور انہی پر قیامت قائم ہوگی۔» یہ حدیث بخاری و مسلم کی شرط پر صحیح ہے مگر انہوں نے اسے روایت نہیں کیا۔
