Hadrat Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "I know better what the Dajjal has with him than he himself knows. He has two rivers: one appears as blazing fire in the sight of whoever sees it, and the other appears as white water. If any of you encounters him, let him close his eyes and drink from the one that appears to be fire, for it is cool water. Beware of the other, for it is the tribulation. Know that 'kafir' (disbeliever) is written between his eyes — whoever can read and whoever cannot can read it — and that one of his eyes is effaced with a membrane over it. He shall emerge in the end from the direction of the Jordan valley, at a place called Afiq. Every person who believes in Allah and the Last Day shall be in the Jordan valley. He shall kill one third of the Muslims, rout one third, and one third shall remain. Night shall fall upon them, and some of the believers shall say to others: 'What are you waiting for? Join your brothers in seeking the pleasure of your Lord! Whoever has surplus food, let him share it with his brother. Pray when dawn breaks, hasten the prayer, then advance upon your enemy.' When they stand to pray, Isa ibn Maryam (blessings of Allah be upon him), their leader, shall descend and lead them in prayer. When the prayer is complete, he shall say: 'Make way between me and the enemy of Allah.' Abu Hazim said that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: 'He shall melt like fat melts in the sun.' Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be well pleased with them both) said: 'Like salt dissolves in water.' Allah shall empower the Muslims over them, and they shall slay them until trees and stones shall call out: 'O servant of Allah! O Abd al-Rahman! O Muslim! Here is a Jew, so kill him!' Allah shall banish them, and the Muslims shall prevail, break the cross, kill the swine, and abolish the jizyah. While they are in that state, Allah shall release the people of Gog and Magog. The first of them shall drink the lake dry, and the last of them shall come and find it drained — not a drop remaining — and they shall say: 'We have conquered our enemies; there was once a trace of water here.' The Prophet of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his companions shall retreat until they enter a city in Palestine called Ludd. They (Gog and Magog) shall say: 'We have conquered those on earth, so come, let us fight those in heaven.' The Prophet of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) shall then supplicate to Allah, and Allah shall send upon them sores in their throats, and not one of them shall remain alive. Their stench shall trouble the Muslims, so Isa (blessings of Allah be upon him) shall supplicate against them, and Allah shall send a wind that casts them all into the sea." This is a hadith whose chain of transmission is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, though they (al-Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

حضرت حذیفہ بن یمان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «مجھے دجال کے ساتھ جو کچھ ہے اس کی خود اس سے زیادہ خبر ہے۔ اس کے پاس دو نہریں ہوں گی: ایک دیکھنے والے کو بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ نظر آئے گی اور دوسری سفید پانی۔ اگر تم میں سے کوئی اسے پائے تو آنکھیں بند کر لے اور جو آگ نظر آئے اس میں سے پیے کیونکہ وہ ٹھنڈا پانی ہے۔ دوسری سے بچو کیونکہ وہ فتنہ ہے۔ جان لو کہ اس کی آنکھوں کے درمیان 'کافر' لکھا ہوا ہے، لکھنا جاننے والا بھی اسے پڑھ لے گا اور نہ جاننے والا بھی۔ اس کی ایک آنکھ مسی ہوئی ہے جس پر جھلی ہے۔ وہ آخرکار اردن کی وادی کی جانب سے نکلے گا، ایک جگہ جسے افیق کہتے ہیں، اور ہر وہ شخص جو اللہ اور یوم آخرت پر ایمان رکھتا ہے وادی اردن میں ہوگا۔ وہ مسلمانوں کا ایک تہائی قتل کرے گا، ایک تہائی کو شکست دے گا اور ایک تہائی باقی رہیں گے۔ رات ان پر چھا جائے گی تو بعض مومنین بعض سے کہیں گے: تم کس کا انتظار کر رہے ہو؟ اپنے بھائیوں سے جا ملو اپنے رب کی رضا میں! جس کے پاس فاضل کھانا ہو وہ اپنے بھائی کو دے دے۔ فجر پھٹتے ہی نماز پڑھو، جلدی پڑھو، پھر اپنے دشمن پر چڑھو۔ جب وہ نماز کے لیے کھڑے ہوں گے تو عیسیٰ ابن مریم علیہ الصلوٰۃ والسلام ان کے امام بن کر نازل ہوں گے اور انہیں نماز پڑھائیں گے۔ جب نماز سے فارغ ہوں گے تو فرمائیں گے: میرے اور اللہ کے دشمن کے درمیان سے ہٹ جاؤ۔» ابو حازم نے کہا کہ حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: وہ ایسے پگھلے گا جیسے چربی دھوپ میں پگھلتی ہے۔ حضرت عبد اللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما نے فرمایا: جیسے نمک پانی میں گھلتا ہے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ مسلمانوں کو ان پر غالب کرے گا اور وہ انہیں قتل کریں گے یہاں تک کہ درخت اور پتھر پکاریں گے: اے اللہ کے بندے! اے عبد الرحمن! اے مسلمان! یہاں یہودی ہے، اسے قتل کرو! اللہ تعالیٰ انہیں ہلاک کرے گا اور مسلمان غالب آئیں گے، صلیب توڑیں گے، خنزیر مار ڈالیں گے اور جزیہ ختم کر دیں گے۔ جب وہ اسی حال میں ہوں گے تو اللہ یاجوج و ماجوج کو نکالے گا۔ ان میں سے پہلے جھیل کا سارا پانی پی جائیں گے اور آخری لوگ آئیں گے اور دیکھیں گے کہ اسے خشک کر دیا گیا ہے — ایک قطرہ بھی باقی نہ ہوگا — اور کہیں گے: ہم نے اپنے دشمنوں پر غلبہ پا لیا، یہاں کبھی پانی کا نشان تھا۔ اللہ کے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور ان کے ساتھی پیچھے ہٹ کر فلسطین کے ایک شہر میں داخل ہوں گے جسے لُدّ کہتے ہیں۔ وہ (یاجوج و ماجوج) کہیں گے: ہم نے زمین والوں پر غلبہ پا لیا، آؤ آسمان والوں سے لڑیں۔ اس وقت اللہ کے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اللہ سے دعا کریں گے اور اللہ ان کے گلوں میں پھوڑے بھیجے گا اور ان میں سے ایک بھی زندہ نہیں بچے گا۔ ان کی بدبو مسلمانوں کو تکلیف دے گی تو حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ الصلوٰۃ والسلام ان کے خلاف دعا کریں گے اور اللہ ایک ہوا بھیجے گا جو ان سب کو سمندر میں پھینک دے گی۔ یہ حدیث مسلم کی شرط پر صحیح ہے مگر انہوں نے اسے روایت نہیں کیا۔
