Hadrat 'Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) — while on one of his journeys, with his companions spread out in their travel — raised his voice with these two verses: 'O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the earthquake of the Hour is a terrible thing. On the Day you see it, every nursing mother will forget her nursling, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people intoxicated while they are not intoxicated, but the punishment of Allah is severe' (al-Hajj: 1-2). When his companions heard that, they spurred their mounts, knowing he had something to say. When they gathered around him, he stated: 'Do you know what day that is?' They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He stated: 'That is the Day when Adam (peace be upon him) will be called by his Lord, and He will say: O Adam, send forth the contingent of the Fire. He will say: O Lord, and what is the contingent of the Fire? He will say: From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine in the Fire and one in Paradise.' They were so dismayed that not one of them showed a smile. When the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) saw that, he stated: 'Work and be glad! By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you are among two creations that, whenever they are added to anything, they overwhelm it: Ya'juj and Ma'juj, and those who have perished from the children of Adam and the children of Iblis.' That brought relief to the people, and he stated: 'Work and be glad! By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you among mankind are but like a mark on the foreleg of an animal or a mole on the side of a camel.' This hadith has a sound chain of transmission, and they did not record it.

حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ حضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم — اپنے ایک سفر میں جبکہ صحابہ بکھرے ہوئے چل رہے تھے — نے ان دو آیتوں کو بلند آواز سے پڑھا: 'اے لوگو! اپنے رب سے ڈرو بے شک قیامت کا زلزلہ بہت بڑی چیز ہے۔ جس دن تم اسے دیکھو گے ہر دودھ پلانے والی اپنے بچے کو بھول جائے گی اور ہر حاملہ اپنا حمل گرا دے گی اور تم لوگوں کو نشے میں دیکھو گے حالانکہ وہ نشے میں نہیں ہوں گے لیکن اللہ کا عذاب سخت ہے' (الحج: 1-2)۔ جب صحابہ نے سنا تو اپنی سواریاں تیز کیں اور جان گئے کہ آپ کچھ فرمانے والے ہیں۔ جب وہ آپ کے گرد جمع ہوئے تو ارشاد فرمایا: 'کیا تم جانتے ہو وہ کون سا دن ہے؟' عرض کیا: اللہ اور اس کے رسول بہتر جانتے ہیں۔ ارشاد فرمایا: 'وہ دن جب آدم علیہ السلام کو پکارا جائے گا اور ان کا رب فرمائے گا: اے آدم! آگ والوں کو بھیجو۔ عرض کریں گے: اے رب! آگ والے کتنے ہیں؟ فرمائے گا: ہر ہزار میں سے نو سو ننانوے آگ میں اور ایک جنت میں۔' وہ اتنے مایوس ہوئے کہ ان میں سے کسی نے مسکراہٹ نہ دکھائی۔ جب حضور صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے یہ دیکھا تو ارشاد فرمایا: 'عمل کرو اور خوش ہو جاؤ! اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد کی جان ہے! تم دو مخلوقات کے ساتھ ہو جو جس چیز میں شامل ہو جائیں اسے بہت کر دیتی ہیں: یاجوج ماجوج اور بنی آدم اور بنی ابلیس میں سے جو ہلاک ہو چکے ہیں۔' اس سے لوگوں کو سکون ملا اور ارشاد فرمایا: 'عمل کرو اور خوش ہو جاؤ! اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد کی جان ہے! تم لوگوں میں ایسے ہو جیسے جانور کی بازو پر نشان یا اونٹ کے پہلو پر تل۔' یہ حدیث صحیح الاسناد ہے اور انہوں نے اسے روایت نہیں کیا۔
