أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ السَّهْمِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ هِشَامِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ الْوَلِيدَ أَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي كَيْفَ صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ يَوْمَ اسْتَسْقَى بِالنَّاسِ فَقَالَ «خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُتَخَشِّعًا مُتَذَلَّلًا مُتَبَذِّلًا فَصَنَعَ فِيهِ كَمَا يَصْنَعُ فِي الْفِطْرِ وَالْأَضْحَى»
English Translation
It is narrated that al-Walid sent Ishaq ibn Abdullah to Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both), and he asked: "O cousin, how did the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) conduct the Istisqa' on the day he prayed for rain with the people?" He said: "The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) went out in humility, modesty, and submission, and he did not deliver a sermon as you do in this sermon of yours. Rather, he continued supplicating and beseeching, and he prayed two units as he prayed on Eid."
Urdu Translation
روایت ہے کہ ولید نے اسحاق بن عبداللہ کو حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کے پاس بھیجا۔ انہوں نے پوچھا: اے ابن عم! رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے جس دن لوگوں کے ساتھ استسقاء فرمایا تو کیا کیا؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: «رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم خشوع و خضوع اور عاجزی سے نکلے اور ایسا خطبہ نہیں دیا جیسا تم اس خطبے میں دیتے ہو، بلکہ دعا اور گڑگڑانے میں لگے رہے اور دو رکعتیں پڑھیں جیسے عید میں پڑھتے تھے۔»
