حَدَّثَنَايَحْيَى بْنُ بِسْطَامَ، حَدَّثَنَايَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، حَدَّثَنِييَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْالْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْتَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ،وَفَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، قَالَا:"مَنْ قَرَأَ بِمِائَةِ آيَةٍ فِي لَيْلَةٍ، كُتِبَ مِنْ الْقَانِتِينَ".
English Translation
Abdullah said: "We differed about a surah — whether it was thirty-five verses or thirty-six. So we went to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and we found Ali talking with him. We said: 'We have differed about the recitation.' The face of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) turned red, and he said: 'Those before you were destroyed because of their disagreements.' Then he whispered to Ali, and Ali said: 'The Messenger of Allah commands you to recite as you were taught.'"

سیدنا تمیم داری اور سیدنا فضالہ بن عبید رضی اللہ عنہما دونوں نے کہا: جس نے رات میں سو آیات پڑھیں وہ قانتین میں لکھ لیا گیا۔[سنن دارمي/من كتاب فضائل القرآن /حدیث: 3484]
