حَدَّثَنَايَحْيَى بْنُ بِسْطَامَ، حَدَّثَنَايَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، حَدَّثَنِيزَيْدُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْسُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى، عَنْكَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْتَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ: أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ:"مَنْ قَرَأَ بِمِائَةِ آيَةٍ فِي لَيْلَةٍ، كُتِبَ لَهُ قُنُوتُ لَيْلَةٍ".
English Translation
Abu Bakrah reported that Jibril (Gabriel) said to the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Recite the Quran in one mode." Mika'il (Michael) said: "Ask for more." So he asked for more. He said: "Recite in two modes." Mika'il said: "Ask for more." So he asked for more, until he reached seven modes. He said: "Each of them is sufficient and complete, as long as you do not mix a verse of punishment with mercy, or a verse of mercy with punishment — like your saying 'Come' and 'Go,' or 'Go' and 'Come.'"
Urdu Translation
سیدنا تمیم داری رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”جس نے ایک رات میں سو آیات پڑھیں اس کے لئے ایک رات کا قنوت لکھا جائے گا۔“[سنن دارمي/من كتاب فضائل القرآن /حدیث: 3482]
