Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زَيْدٍ سَعِيدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، قَالَ : " جَاءَ رَجُل زَمَنَ زِيَادٍ إِلَى الْكُوفَةِ ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ، قَالَ : وَرُكْبَتِي تُصِيبُ أَوْ تَمَسُّ رُكْبَتَهُ، فَسَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقْرَأُ : قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ ، قَالَ :" بَرِئَ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ "، وَسَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقْرَأُ : قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ، قَالَ : غُفِرَ لَهُ "
English Translation
Abu al-Hasan Muhajir narrated: A man came to Kufah during the time of Ziyad, and I heard him narrate that he was with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) on one of his journeys. He said: My knee was touching or brushing against his knee. He (the Prophet) heard a man reciting: "Qul Ya Ayyuha al-Kafirun (Say: O disbelievers)" and stated: "He has freed himself from polytheism (shirk)." Then he heard a man reciting: "Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad (Say: He is Allah, the One)" and stated: "He has been forgiven."
Urdu Translation
ابوالحسن مہاجر بیان کرتے ہیں: زیاد کے زمانے میں ایک شخص کوفہ آیا، اور میں نے اسے بیان کرتے سنا کہ وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ ایک سفر میں تھا۔ کہا: میرا گھٹنا آپ کے گھٹنے سے لگ رہا تھا یا چھو رہا تھا۔ آپ نے ایک شخص کو 'قل یا ایہا الکافرون' پڑھتے سنا تو ارشاد فرمایا: "شرک سے بری ہو گیا۔" پھر ایک شخص کو 'قل ہو اللہ احد' پڑھتے سنا تو ارشاد فرمایا: "اسے بخش دیا گیا۔"
