Arabic (Original)
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ سُفْيَانُ :" إِذَا كَانَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ أَوَّلَ مَا تَحِيضُ تَجْلِسُ فِي الْحَيْضِ مِنْ نَحْوِ نِسَائِهَا "، سُئِلَ عَبْد اللَّهِ عَنْ هَذَا، فَقَالَ : " هُوَ أَشْبَهُ الْأَشْيَاءِ "
English Translation
Sufyan stated: 'When a woman menstruates for the first time, she should sit (refrain from prayer) for the duration similar to the women of her family.' Abdullah was asked about this, and he said: 'This is the most appropriate opinion.'
Urdu Translation
سفیان نے فرمایا: 'جب عورت کو پہلی بار حیض آئے تو وہ اپنے خاندان کی عورتوں کی مدت کے مطابق (نماز سے) بیٹھے۔' عبداللہ سے اس بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو فرمایا: 'یہ سب سے مناسب بات ہے۔'
