English Translation
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the fasting of the Prophet (peace be upon him). He said: "Whenever I wished to see the Prophet (peace be upon him) fasting in any month, I could find him fasting. And whenever I wished to see him not fasting, I could also find him not fasting. Whenever I wished to see him praying at night, I could find him praying, and whenever I wished to see him sleeping, I could find him sleeping. I never touched any silk or brocade softer than the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), nor did I ever smell musk or any perfume more fragrant than the natural scent of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سےنبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے روزے کے بارے میں سوال کیا گیا تو انھوں نے بتایا کہ میں جب چاہتا کہ کسی مہینہ میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو روزہ رکھتا ہوا دیکھ لوں تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو روزہ رکھتا ہوا دیکھ لیتا اور جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو بغیر روزہ رکھے دیکھنا چاہتا تو بھی دیکھ لیتا اور جب کبھی رات کو نماز پڑھتا ہوا دیکھنا چاہتا تو نماز پڑھتا ہوا دیکھ لیتا اور جب (سوتا ہوا دیکھنا چاہتا تو) سوتا ہوا دیکھ لیتا اور میں نے کسی سمور اور ریشمی کپڑے کو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے دست مبارک سے زیادہ نرم نہیں دیکھا اور نہ میں نے کبھی مشک عنبر کو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم(کے پسینہ) کی خوشبو سے زیادہ خوشبودار پایا۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 960]
