English Translation
Zayd ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "We had suhur (pre-dawn meal) with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and then he stood for prayer." Anas asked him: "How much time was there between the adhan and the suhur?" He said: "About the time it takes to recite fifty verses."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا زید بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ہمراہ سحری کھائی پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنماز کے لیے کھڑے ہو گئے۔ (سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں میں نے ان سے) پوچھا کہ اذان اور سحری کے درمیان کتنا وقت تھا؟ تو انھوں نے کہا کہ جتنے وقت میں پچاس آیتوں کی تلاوت کی جا سکے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 935]
