English Translation
Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that she never saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) pray the night prayer sitting until he grew old. Then he would sit and recite, and when he wanted to bow (ruku'), he would stand up and recite about thirty or forty verses, then bow.
Urdu Translation
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہانہوں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو تہجد کی نماز کبھی بیٹھ کر پڑھتے نہیں دیکھا یہاں تک کہ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی عمر مبارک زیادہ ہو گئی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبیٹھ کر قرآت کرتے پھر جب رکوع کرنا چاہتے تو کھڑے ہو جاتے اور تقریباً تیس یا چالیس آیتیں پڑھ کر رکوع کرتے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 588]
