English Translation
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "When the verses of Surah al-Baqarah regarding riba (usury/interest) were revealed, the Prophet (peace be upon him) went to the mosque and recited them to the people. Then he prohibited the trade of wine."
Urdu Translation
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہجب سود کے بارے میں سورۃ البقرہ کی آیات نازل کی گئیں تو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممسجد کی طرف تشریف لے گئے اور ان آیات کو لوگوں کے سامنے پڑھ دیا۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے شراب کی تجارت حرام کر دی۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 289]
