English Translation

Narrated Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him): We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) to hear and obey in times of joy and displeasure, and that we would not dispute with those in authority over their authority, and that wherever we were we would speak the truth, and that in the matter of Allah we would not fear the blame of any blamer.
