English Translation
Narrated Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever sees in his ruler (that is, governor or king) something objectionable should be patient over it, for whoever departs a hand's span from the ruler (his obedience) dies the death of the Days of Ignorance." (Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both)) in another narration says that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever sees in his ruler something objectionable should be patient over it, for whoever separates himself even a hand's span from the community and then dies, dies the death of the Days of Ignorance."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتے ہیں کہآپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”جو شخص اپنے امیر (یعنی حاکم یا بادشاہ) میں کوئی برائی دیکھے تو اس پر صبر کرے کیونکہ جو شخص امیر (کی اطاعت) سے ایک بالشت باہر ہو گا تو جاہلیت کی موت مرے گا۔“(سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما) ایک دوسری روایت میں کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”جو شخص اپنے حاکم میں کوئی برائی کی بات دیکھے تو چاہیے کہ اس پر صبر کرے کیونکہ جس نے جماعت سے ایک بالشت بھی جدائی اختیار کی اور پھر مر گیا تو وہ جاہلیت کی موت مرے گا۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 2187]
