English Translation
It is narrated from Umar ibn Abi Salama (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said, "I was a boy under the care of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). At mealtime my hand used to move about all over the dish, so the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to me, 'O boy! Say Bismillah, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is in front of you.' After that, this was always my manner of eating."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عمر بن ابوسلمہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہمیں بچہ تھا اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی پرورش میں تھا۔ کھانے کے وقت میرا ہاتھ رکابی کے چاروں طرف گھومتا تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے مجھے فرمایا:”اے لڑکے! بسم اللہ پڑھ کر داہنے ہاتھ سے کھاؤ اور اپنے آگے سے کھاؤ۔“اس کے بعد ہمیشہ میرے کھانے کا یہی طریقہ رہا۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1888]
