English Translation
Jabir ibn Abdullah and Salama ibn al-Akwa (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "We were in an army (that went to Hunayn) when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came to us and said that you are permitted to make mut'a (temporary marriage), so make mut'a." It is narrated from Ibn Abi Dhi'b that Iyas ibn Salama ibn al-Akwa narrated from his father that the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "If a man and a woman make mut'a and do not specify a period, then let them stay together for (at least) three days and three nights. After that, if they wish they may separate, or extend the period." Salama said, "I do not know whether this permission was specific to us or general for all people." Imam al-Bukhari clarified that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that this ruling was abrogated during the Battle of Khaybar. سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ اور سیدنا سلمہ بن اکوع رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم ایک لشکر میں تھے (جو حنین پر گیا تھا) اتنے میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمہمارے پاس آئے اور ارشاد فرمایا کہ تمہیں متعہ کرنے کی اجازت ہے تم متعہ کر لو۔ ابن ابی ذئب سے روایت ہے کہ ایاس بن سلمہ بن اکوع نے اپنے باپ سے روایت کیا کہ اللہ کے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ارشاد فرمایا:”اگر مرد اور عورت متعہ کر لیں اور مدت متعین نہ کریں تو (کم سے کم) تین دن تین راتیں مل کر رہیں۔ اس کے بعد چاہیں تو جدا ہو جائیں یا مدت بڑھا لیں۔ سلمہ نے کہا“میں نہیں جانتا کہ یہ اجازت ہمارے لیے خاص تھی یا عام لوگوں کے لیے بھی تھی۔“امام بخاری نے وضاحت فرما دی کہ سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ غزوہ خیبر میں یہ حکم منسوخ ہو گیا تھا۔ (دیکھئیے حدیث: کتاب: غزوات کے بیان میں۔۔۔ باب: جنگ خیبر کا بیان۔۔۔)[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1844]
