Qabisah narrated to us, he said Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Sulayman, from Tawus (upon him be mercy), from Hadrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) who said: The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to supplicate at night: "O Allah! All praise is Yours; You are the Lord of the heavens and the earth. All praise is Yours; You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is therein. All praise is Yours; You are the Light of the heavens and the earth. Your Word is truth, Your promise is truth, meeting You is truth, Paradise is truth, the Hellfire is truth, and the Hour is truth. O Allah! I have submitted to You, believed in You, placed my trust in You, turned to You, argued (for Your cause), and referred all judgement to You. So forgive me what I have sent forth and what I have left behind, what I have concealed and what I have declared. You are my Deity; there is no deity for me other than You." Thabit bin Muhammad narrated from Sufyan similarly, and said: "You are the Truth, and Your Word is the truth."

ہم سے قبیصہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے سفیان نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن جریج نے، ان سے سلیمان نے، ان سے طاؤس رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ نے اور ان سے حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم رات کو یہ دعا فرمایا کرتے تھے: "اے اللہ! تیرے لیے حمد ہے، تو آسمانوں اور زمین کا رب ہے، تیرے لیے حمد ہے، تو آسمانوں اور زمین اور جو ان میں ہے سب کو قائم رکھنے والا ہے، تیرے لیے حمد ہے، تو آسمانوں اور زمین کا نور ہے۔ تیرا فرمان حق ہے، تیرا وعدہ حق ہے، تیری ملاقات حق ہے، جنت حق ہے، جہنم حق ہے اور قیامت حق ہے۔ اے اللہ! میں نے تیرے آگے سر تسلیم خم کیا، تجھ پر ایمان لایا، تجھ پر بھروسہ کیا، تیری طرف رجوع کیا، تیرے (دین کے) سبب جھگڑا کیا اور تجھے ہی حاکم بنایا، پس مجھے بخش دے جو میں نے آگے بھیجا اور جو پیچھے چھوڑا، اور جو چھپایا اور جو ظاہر کیا۔ تو ہی میرا معبود ہے، تیرے سوا میرا کوئی معبود نہیں۔" ثابت بن محمد نے سفیان سے اسی طرح بیان کیا اور کہا: "أَنْتَ الْحَقُّ وَقَوْلُكَ الْحَقُّ" (تو حق ہے اور تیرا فرمان حق ہے)۔
