English Translation
Ibn Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to say after the opening takbir and after saying: 'I have turned my face to the One who created the heavens and the earth, as a sincere monotheist, a Muslim. O Allah, to You belongs all praise. You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. You are the Truth, and Your promise is truth, and Your meeting is truth, and Paradise is truth, and the Fire is truth, and the Hour is truth. O Allah, to You I have submitted, in You I have believed, upon You I have relied, to You I have turned in repentance, by You I have argued, and to You I have referred for judgment. So forgive me what I have done before and after, what I have concealed and what I have declared. O Allah, You are my God; there is no deity except You.' Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would recite after this.
