Hadrat Abu Huraira and Hadrat Zaid bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrate that a bedouin came and submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Judge between us according to the Book of Allah.' His opponent stood up and said: 'He has spoken the truth — judge between us according to the Book of Allah.' The bedouin said: 'My son was a laborer for this man and committed adultery with his wife. People told me that my son deserved stoning, so I ransomed my son for one hundred sheep and a slave-girl. Then I asked the people of knowledge and they told me that my son's punishment is one hundred lashes and one year of exile.' The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: 'I shall certainly judge between you according to the Book of Allah. The slave-girl and the sheep shall be returned to you. Your son is to receive one hundred lashes and one year of exile. And O Unais!' — addressing a man — 'Go in the morning to this man's wife and stone her (if she confesses).' So Hadrat Unais (may Allah be well pleased with him) went to her the next morning and stoned her.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ اور حضرت زید بن خالد جہنی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ ایک دیہاتی آیا اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہمارے درمیان کتاب اللہ کے مطابق فیصلہ فرمائیے۔ اس کا مخالف فریق کھڑا ہوا اور کہا: انہوں نے سچ کہا، کتاب اللہ کے مطابق فیصلہ فرمائیے۔ دیہاتی نے کہا: میرا بیٹا اس شخص کے ہاں مزدور تھا اور اس نے اس کی بیوی سے زنا کر لیا۔ لوگوں نے مجھ سے کہا: تمہارے بیٹے پر رجم ہے۔ تو میں نے سو بکریوں اور ایک لونڈی کے بدلے اپنے بیٹے کو چھڑایا۔ پھر میں نے اہلِ علم سے پوچھا تو انہوں نے بتایا کہ تمہارے بیٹے پر سو کوڑے اور ایک سال کی جلاوطنی ہے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: میں تمہارے درمیان کتاب اللہ کے مطابق ضرور فیصلہ کروں گا۔ لونڈی اور بکریاں تمہیں واپس ملیں گی، تمہارے بیٹے پر سو کوڑے اور ایک سال کی جلاوطنی ہے۔ اور اے انیس! (ایک شخص سے مخاطب ہو کر فرمایا) صبح ہوتے ہی اس شخص کی بیوی کے پاس جاؤ اور اگر (وہ اعتراف کر لے تو) اسے رجم کرو۔ چنانچہ حضرت انیس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ صبح اس عورت کے پاس گئے اور اسے رجم کر دیا۔
