Muhammad ibn Mahbub narrated to us, 'Abd al-Wahid narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Humayd ibn Hadrat 'Abd al-Rahman, from Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him), who said: A man came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and submitted: I am ruined! He stated: "What is it?" He said: I had relations with my wife during Ramadan. He stated: "Can you find a slave to free?" He said: No. He stated: "Can you fast for two consecutive months?" He said: No. He stated: "Can you feed sixty poor people?" He said: No. Then a man from the Ansar came with a large basket — an 'araq is a large basket containing dates — and he stated: "Take this and give it in charity." He said: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Should I give it to someone more needy than us? By the One Who sent you with the truth, there is no household between the two lava fields (of Madinah) more needy than ours. Then he stated: "Go and feed your family with it."
Urdu Translation
ہم سے محمد بن محبوب نے بیان کیا، ہم سے عبدالواحد نے بیان کیا، ہم سے معمر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے زہری سے، انہوں نے حمید بن عبدالرحمٰن سے، انہوں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کیا، انہوں نے فرمایا: ایک شخص رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی بارگاہ میں آیا اور عرض کیا: میں ہلاک ہو گیا! آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: "وہ کیا؟" اس نے عرض کیا: میں نے رمضان میں اپنی بیوی سے صحبت کر لی۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: "کیا تمہارے پاس غلام آزاد کرنے کا ذریعہ ہے؟" اس نے عرض کیا: نہیں۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: "کیا تم دو مہینے لگاتار روزے رکھ سکتے ہو؟" اس نے عرض کیا: نہیں۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: "کیا تم ساٹھ مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلا سکتے ہو؟" اس نے عرض کیا: نہیں۔ (راوی نے) فرمایا: پھر ایک انصاری شخص ایک عرق (ٹوکرا) لے کر آیا — عرق بڑا ٹوکرا ہوتا ہے جس میں کھجوریں تھیں — آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: "یہ لے جاؤ اور صدقہ کر دو۔" اس نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! کیا ہم سے زیادہ محتاج کسی کو دوں؟ اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے، مدینے کے دونوں کناروں کے درمیان ہم سے زیادہ محتاج کوئی گھرانا نہیں۔ پھر آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: "جاؤ اور اپنے گھر والوں کو کھلا دو۔"
