Narrated by Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came out when the sun had declined (at noon) and prayed the Zuhr prayer. Then he ascended the pulpit and spoke about the Hour (Day of Judgment), mentioning that tremendous matters would occur in it. Then he said: 'Whoever wishes to ask about anything may ask. As long as I am standing here, I will answer whatever you ask.' The people wept profusely. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) kept repeating: 'Ask me!' Hadrat 'Abdullah bin Hudhafah al-Sahmi (may Allah be well pleased with him) stood and asked, 'Who is my father?' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'Your father is Hudhafah.' He kept saying: 'Ask me!' Then Hadrat 'Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be well pleased with him) knelt down reverently and said, 'We are pleased with Allah as our Lord, Islam as our religion, and Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) as our the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).' Thereupon the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) fell silent. Then he said: 'Just now Paradise and Hell-fire were shown to me before this wall. I have never seen anything better than Paradise nor anything worse than Hell-fire.'
Urdu Translation
ہم سے ابوالیمان حکم بن نافع نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہمیں شعیب نے زہری سے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا: مجھے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے خبر دی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جب سورج ڈھلا تو (حجرہ مبارک سے) باہر تشریف لائے اور ظہر کی نماز ادا فرمائی۔ پھر منبر پر تشریف لائے اور قیامت کا ذکر فرمایا۔ ارشاد فرمایا کہ قیامت میں بڑے عظیم امور پیش آئیں گے۔ پھر فرمایا: "جسے کچھ پوچھنا ہو پوچھ لے۔ جب تک میں اس مقام پر ہوں تم مجھ سے جو بھی پوچھو گے، میں ضرور بتاؤں گا۔" لوگ بہت زیادہ رونے لگے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم بار بار ارشاد فرماتے رہے: "مجھ سے پوچھو۔" حضرت عبداللہ بن حذافہ سہمی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کھڑے ہوئے اور عرض کیا: میرے والد کون ہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "تمہارے والد حذافہ ہیں۔" پھر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم بار بار ارشاد فرماتے رہے: "مجھ سے پوچھو!" تب حضرت عمر فاروق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ادب سے اپنے گھٹنوں کے بل بیٹھ گئے اور عرض کیا: ہم اللہ تعالیٰ کے رب ہونے پر، اسلام کے دین ہونے پر اور محمد صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے نبی ہونے پر راضی اور خوش ہیں۔ اس پر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم خاموش ہو گئے۔ پھر ارشاد فرمایا: "ابھی ابھی مجھے اس دیوار کے سامنے جنت اور جہنم دکھائی گئی۔ پس میں نے نہ جنت سے بہتر کوئی چیز دیکھی اور نہ جہنم سے بدتر کوئی چیز دیکھی۔"
