Abd al-Razzaq told us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, who said: Anas ibn Malik informed me, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, went out when the sun had passed its zenith, and prayed the noon prayer; then when he gave the salutation, he stood on the pulpit and mentioned the Hour, and mentioned that before it there would be great events, then said: "Whoever wishes to ask about anything, let him ask about it, for by Allah, you will not ask me about anything but I will inform you of it, as long as I remain in this place of mine." Anas said: The people wept much when they heard that from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, kept saying, "Ask me." Anas said: A man stood up and said, "Where will I enter, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "The Fire." Then Abdullah ibn Hudhafah stood up and said, "Who is my father, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Your father is Hudhafah." He said: Then he kept saying, "Ask me," so Umar knelt down on his knees and said, "We are content with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, as Messenger." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, fell silent when Umar said that, then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, Paradise and the Fire were just now presented to me against the side of this wall while I was praying, and I have never seen a day like today in good and evil."
