حَدَّثَنَا فَرْوَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَنَّ الْحَارِثَ بْنَ هِشَامٍ، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَيْفَ يَأْتِيكَ الْوَحْىُ قَالَ " كُلُّ ذَاكَ يَأْتِي الْمَلَكُ أَحْيَانًا فِي مِثْلِ صَلْصَلَةِ الْجَرَسِ، فَيَفْصِمُ عَنِّي وَقَدْ وَعَيْتُ مَا قَالَ، وَهْوَ أَشَدُّهُ عَلَىَّ، وَيَتَمَثَّلُ لِي الْمَلَكُ أَحْيَانًا رَجُلاً، فَيُكَلِّمُنِي فَأَعِي مَا يَقُولُ ".
English Translation
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat ' Aisha al-Siddiqa (may Allah be well pleased with her) that Hadrat al-Harith bin Hisham (may Allah be well pleased with him) submitted to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! How does the divine revelation come to you? The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: It comes in various ways. Sometimes the angel comes to me with a sound resembling the ringing of a bell — and this is the hardest form upon me — and when he departs from me, I have fully retained what he said. And sometimes the angel appears to me in the form of a man and speaks to me, and I retain whatever he says.
Urdu Translation
حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت حارث بن ہشام رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ کے پاس وحی کس طرح آتی ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: مختلف طریقوں سے آتی ہے۔ کبھی فرشتہ گھنٹی کی آواز جیسی صدا کے ساتھ آتا ہے — اور یہ صورت میرے لیے سب سے زیادہ دشوار ہوتی ہے — جب وہ مجھ سے جدا ہوتا ہے تو جو کچھ اس نے کہا ہوتا ہے میں اسے پوری طرح یاد کر چکا ہوتا ہوں۔ اور کبھی فرشتہ ایک مرد کی صورت میں ظاہر ہوتا ہے اور مجھ سے بات کرتا ہے، تو جو کچھ وہ کہتا ہے میں اسے پوری طرح یاد کر لیتا ہوں۔
