Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " تَعِسَ عَبْدُ الدِّينَارِ وَالدِّرْهَمِ وَالْقَطِيفَةِ وَالْخَمِيصَةِ، إِنْ أُعْطِيَ رَضِيَ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يُعْطَ لَمْ يَرْضَ ". لَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ.
English Translation
It is narrated by Hadrat Abu Hurayra (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: "Wretched is the slave of the dinar, the slave of the dirham, the slave of the velvet cloak, and the slave of the striped garment. If he is given, he is pleased; and if he is not given, he is displeased."
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "ہلاک ہوا دینار کا بندہ، درہم کا بندہ، مخملی چادر کا بندہ اور دھاری دار چادر کا بندہ۔ اگر اسے (مال) دیا جائے تو خوش ہو اور اگر نہ دیا جائے تو ناراض ہو جائے۔"
