Arabic (Original)
وَقَالَ اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ دَعَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم الأَنْصَارَ لِيُقْطِعَ لَهُمْ بِالْبَحْرَيْنِ، فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ فَعَلْتَ فَاكْتُبْ لإِخْوَانِنَا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ بِمِثْلِهَا، فَلَمْ يَكُنْ ذَلِكَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي ".
English Translation
It is narrated by Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) called the Ansar in order to grant them portions of land in Bahrain. They submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! If you do this, then write a similar document for our Quraishi (emigrant) brothers as well.' However, the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) did not have enough land for that. So he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Indeed, after me you will see others being given preference over you, so remain patient until you meet me.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انصار کو بلایا تاکہ انہیں بحرین میں اراضی بطور جاگیر عنایت فرمائیں۔ انہوں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اگر آپ ایسا فرمانا چاہتے ہیں تو ہمارے قریشی (مہاجر) بھائیوں کو بھی اسی طرح کی سند لکھوا دیجیے۔ لیکن نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس اتنی زمین نہ تھی۔ چنانچہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: بے شک تم میرے بعد دیکھو گے کہ دوسروں کو تم پر ترجیح دی جائے گی، تو اس وقت صبر کرنا یہاں تک کہ مجھ سے ملاقات کرو۔
