Yahya bin Bukayr narrated to us, he said al-Layth bin Sa'd narrated to us, from 'Uqayl, who said Ibn Shihab narrated, and 'Urwah bin al-Zubayr informed me, and from him the noble wife of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha al-Siddiqah (may Allah be well pleased with her) narrated: Since the time I gained awareness, I found my parents to be followers of the religion of Islam. Abu Salih said: Abdullah bin al-Mubarak narrated to me, from Yunus, from al-Zuhri, who said 'Urwah bin al-Zubayr informed me, and Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha al-Siddiqah (may Allah be well pleased with her) said: Since I gained awareness, I found my parents following the religion of Islam. Not a day would pass without the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) visiting us morning and evening. When the Muslims were subjected to severe persecution, Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) set out to emigrate toward Abyssinia. When he reached Bark al-Ghimad, he met Ibn al-Daghinah, the chief of the Qarah tribe. He asked: Where are you headed, O Hadrat Abu Bakr? Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: My people have expelled me. I wish to travel through the earth and worship my Lord. Ibn al-Daghinah said: A man like you neither leaves nor is expelled. For you earn for the destitute, maintain ties of kinship, bear the burdens of the weak, show hospitality to guests, and help in righteous causes. I offer you my protection; return and worship your Lord in your own city. So Ibn al-Daghinah returned with Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him), went to the chiefs of the Quraysh pagans and told them: A man like Hadrat Abu Bakr neither leaves nor is expelled. Would you expel one who earns for the destitute, maintains kinship ties, supports the weak, hosts guests, and aids in righteous causes? The Quraysh accepted Ibn al-Daghinah's protection and granted Hadrat Abu Bakr safety, but stipulated: Let him worship his Lord inside his house; let him pray and recite as he wishes but not disturb us or make it public, for we fear he may lead our women and children astray. Ibn al-Daghinah conveyed these terms to Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him). So Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) began worshipping within his home, neither praying openly nor reciting outside his house. Then Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) decided to build a prayer area in the courtyard of his house. He did so and began praying and reciting the Noble Quran there openly. The women and children of the polytheists would gather around him, marveling and watching. Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) was a man of tender heart who could not restrain his tears when reciting the Noble Quran. This alarmed the chiefs of the Quraysh polytheists. They summoned Ibn al-Daghinah. When he came, they said: We granted Hadrat Abu Bakr protection on the condition that he worship inside his house, but he has overstepped; he has built a prayer area in his courtyard and prays and recites publicly. We fear our women and children may be influenced. Go to him; if he agrees to confine his worship to his house, well and good. Otherwise, ask him to return your protection, for we do not wish to violate your guarantee, but we will not tolerate his public worship. Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha al-Siddiqah (may Allah be well pleased with her) said: Ibn al-Daghinah went to Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) and said: You know the terms of our agreement. Either abide by them or return my protection to me. I do not wish the Arabs to hear that my guarantee was violated regarding one I pledged to protect. Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: I return your protection to you and am content with the protection of Allah. At that time, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was still in Makkah. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: I have been shown the place of your emigration. I saw a salty land with date palms, situated between two dark stony tracts. When the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) mentioned this, some Muslims emigrated to Madinah and some who had emigrated to Abyssinia also came to Madinah. Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) also began preparing to emigrate, so the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated to him: Wait, for I hope to be granted permission as well. Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) submitted: May my parents be sacrificed for you! Do you truly hope for that? The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Yes, indeed! So Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) waited for the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in order to accompany him, and fed two camels he had with the leaves of the samur tree for four months.

ہم سے یحییٰ بن بکیر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے عقیل نے کہ ابن شہاب نے بیان کیا، انہیں عروہ بن حضرت زبیر نے خبر دی، اور ان سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی زوجۂ مطہرہ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے بیان فرمایا کہ میں نے جب سے ہوش سنبھالا تو اپنے والدین کو دینِ اسلام ہی کا پیروکار پایا۔ ابوصالح نے بیان کیا کہ مجھ سے عبداللہ بن مبارک نے بیان کیا، ان سے یونس نے اور ان سے زہری نے بیان کیا کہ مجھے عروہ بن حضرت زبیر نے خبر دی، ان سے حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے بیان فرمایا کہ جب سے میں نے ہوش سنبھالا اپنے والدین کو دینِ اسلام کا پیروکار پایا۔ کوئی دن ایسا نہ گزرتا تھا جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم صبح و شام دونوں وقت ہمارے یہاں تشریف نہ لاتے ہوں۔ پھر جب مسلمانوں کو بہت زیادہ تکلیف پہنچائی جانے لگی تو حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے حبشہ کی طرف ہجرت کا ارادہ فرمایا۔ جب آپ برک غماد پہنچے تو وہاں قبیلۂ قارہ کے سردار ابن الدغنہ سے ملاقات ہوئی۔ اس نے پوچھا: حضرت ابوبکر! کہاں کا ارادہ ہے؟ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: میری قوم نے مجھے نکال دیا ہے۔ اب ارادہ ہے کہ اللہ کی زمین میں سیر کروں اور اپنے رب کی عبادت کرتا رہوں۔ ابن الدغنہ نے کہا: آپ جیسا نیک انسان نہ خود نکلتا ہے نہ نکالا جاتا ہے۔ کیونکہ آپ محتاجوں کے لیے کماتے ہیں، صلۂ رحمی کرتے ہیں، کمزوروں کا بوجھ اٹھاتے ہیں، مہمان نوازی کرتے ہیں اور حق بات میں مدد کرتے ہیں۔ آپ کی حفاظت میری ذمہ داری ہے، واپس چلیے اور اپنے شہر میں رب کی عبادت کیجیے۔ پس ابن الدغنہ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے ساتھ واپس آیا اور کفارِ قریش کے سرداروں کے پاس گیا اور کہا: حضرت ابوبکر جیسا نیک آدمی نہ خود نکلتا ہے نہ نکالا جاتا ہے۔ کیا تم ایسے شخص کو نکالتے ہو جو محتاجوں کا کفیل ہے، صلۂ رحمی کرتا ہے، کمزوروں کا سہارا ہے، مہمان نواز ہے اور نوائبِ حق میں مددگار ہے؟ قریش نے ابن الدغنہ کی امان مان لی اور حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو امان دے دی مگر شرط رکھی کہ اپنے رب کی عبادت گھر کے اندر کریں، جو چاہیں نماز پڑھیں اور تلاوت کریں مگر باہر اعلانیہ نہ کریں کیونکہ ہمیں ڈر ہے کہ ہماری عورتیں اور بچے فتنے میں پڑ جائیں گے۔ ابن الدغنہ نے حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو یہ شرائط بتا دیں۔ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ گھر کے اندر عبادت کرنے لگے، نہ باہر نماز کا اظہار کرتے نہ تلاوت کا۔ پھر حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے دل میں آیا کہ اپنے گھر کے صحن میں ایک جگہ نماز کے لیے بنا لیں۔ چنانچہ ایسا ہی کیا اور وہاں اعلانیہ نماز پڑھنے اور قرآنِ مجید کی تلاوت کرنے لگے۔ مشرکوں کی عورتیں اور بچے جمع ہونے لگے اور حیرت سے دیکھنے لگے۔ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بہت رقیق القلب تھے، جب قرآن مجید پڑھتے تو آنسوؤں پر قابو نہ رہتا۔ اس صورتِ حال سے کفارِ قریش کے سردار گھبرا گئے اور ابن الدغنہ کو بلوا بھیجا۔ اس نے آ کر کہا: ہم نے حضرت ابوبکر کو اس شرط پر امان دی تھی کہ وہ گھر کے اندر عبادت کریں گے مگر انہوں نے حد سے تجاوز کیا، صحن میں نماز گاہ بنا لی اور اعلانیہ نماز اور تلاوت شروع کر دی۔ ہمیں ڈر ہے کہ ہمارے بچے اور عورتیں فتنے میں پڑ جائیں۔ اگر وہ گھر کے اندر عبادت پر اکتفا کریں تو ٹھیک، ورنہ ان سے کہو اپنی امان واپس کر دیں۔ ہم تمہاری امان توڑنا نہیں چاہتے مگر اعلان بھی برداشت نہیں کریں گے۔ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے فرمایا: ابن الدغنہ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے پاس آیا اور کہا: آپ جانتے ہیں کس شرط پر میرا آپ سے عہد تھا۔ اب یا تو اس شرط کی حد میں رہیں یا میری امان واپس کر دیں۔ میں نہیں چاہتا کہ عرب میں یہ بات پھیلے کہ میں نے جسے امان دی تھی اس کی امان توڑی گئی۔ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: میں تمہاری امان واپس کرتا ہوں اور اللہ کی امان پر راضی ہوں۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ان دنوں مکہ مکرمہ ہی میں تشریف فرما تھے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: مجھے تمہاری ہجرت کا مقام دکھلایا گیا ہے۔ میں نے ایک نمکین زمین دیکھی ہے جہاں کھجور کے باغات ہیں اور وہ دو سیاہ پتھریلے میدانوں کے درمیان ہے۔ جب آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اس کا ذکر فرمایا تو مسلمانوں نے مدینہ کی طرف ہجرت شروع کر دی اور بعض صحابہ جو حبشہ ہجرت کر چکے تھے وہ بھی مدینہ آ گئے۔ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بھی ہجرت کی تیاری کرنے لگے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ٹھہرو! مجھے امید ہے کہ مجھے بھی اجازت مل جائے گی۔ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: میرے ماں باپ آپ پر فدا ہوں! کیا واقعی آپ کو اس کی امید ہے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں! چنانچہ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا انتظار کرنے لگے تاکہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ہمراہ ہجرت کریں اور اپنی دو اونٹنیوں کو چار ماہ تک ببول کے پتے کھلاتے رہے۔

ہم سے یحییٰ بن بکیر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے عقیل نے کہ ابن شہاب نے بیان کیا، انہیں عروہ بن حضرت زبیر نے خبر دی، اور ان سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی زوجۂ مطہرہ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے بیان فرمایا کہ میں نے جب سے ہوش سنبھالا تو اپنے والدین کو دینِ اسلام ہی کا پیروکار پایا۔ ابوصالح نے بیان کیا کہ مجھ سے عبداللہ بن مبارک نے بیان کیا، ان سے یونس نے اور ان سے زہری نے بیان کیا کہ مجھے عروہ بن حضرت زبیر نے خبر دی، ان سے حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے بیان فرمایا کہ جب سے میں نے ہوش سنبھالا اپنے والدین کو دینِ اسلام کا پیروکار پایا۔ کوئی دن ایسا نہ گزرتا تھا جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم صبح و شام دونوں وقت ہمارے یہاں تشریف نہ لاتے ہوں۔ پھر جب مسلمانوں کو بہت زیادہ تکلیف پہنچائی جانے لگی تو حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے حبشہ کی طرف ہجرت کا ارادہ فرمایا۔ جب آپ برک غماد پہنچے تو وہاں قبیلۂ قارہ کے سردار ابن الدغنہ سے ملاقات ہوئی۔ اس نے پوچھا: حضرت ابوبکر! کہاں کا ارادہ ہے؟ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: میری قوم نے مجھے نکال دیا ہے۔ اب ارادہ ہے کہ اللہ کی زمین میں سیر کروں اور اپنے رب کی عبادت کرتا رہوں۔ ابن الدغنہ نے کہا: آپ جیسا نیک انسان نہ خود نکلتا ہے نہ نکالا جاتا ہے۔ کیونکہ آپ محتاجوں کے لیے کماتے ہیں، صلۂ رحمی کرتے ہیں، کمزوروں کا بوجھ اٹھاتے ہیں، مہمان نوازی کرتے ہیں اور حق بات میں مدد کرتے ہیں۔ آپ کی حفاظت میری ذمہ داری ہے، واپس چلیے اور اپنے شہر میں رب کی عبادت کیجیے۔ پس ابن الدغنہ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے ساتھ واپس آیا اور کفارِ قریش کے سرداروں کے پاس گیا اور کہا: حضرت ابوبکر جیسا نیک آدمی نہ خود نکلتا ہے نہ نکالا جاتا ہے۔ کیا تم ایسے شخص کو نکالتے ہو جو محتاجوں کا کفیل ہے، صلۂ رحمی کرتا ہے، کمزوروں کا سہارا ہے، مہمان نواز ہے اور نوائبِ حق میں مددگار ہے؟ قریش نے ابن الدغنہ کی امان مان لی اور حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو امان دے دی مگر شرط رکھی کہ اپنے رب کی عبادت گھر کے اندر کریں، جو چاہیں نماز پڑھیں اور تلاوت کریں مگر باہر اعلانیہ نہ کریں کیونکہ ہمیں ڈر ہے کہ ہماری عورتیں اور بچے فتنے میں پڑ جائیں گے۔ ابن الدغنہ نے حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو یہ شرائط بتا دیں۔ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ گھر کے اندر عبادت کرنے لگے، نہ باہر نماز کا اظہار کرتے نہ تلاوت کا۔ پھر حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے دل میں آیا کہ اپنے گھر کے صحن میں ایک جگہ نماز کے لیے بنا لیں۔ چنانچہ ایسا ہی کیا اور وہاں اعلانیہ نماز پڑھنے اور قرآنِ مجید کی تلاوت کرنے لگے۔ مشرکوں کی عورتیں اور بچے جمع ہونے لگے اور حیرت سے دیکھنے لگے۔ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بہت رقیق القلب تھے، جب قرآن مجید پڑھتے تو آنسوؤں پر قابو نہ رہتا۔ اس صورتِ حال سے کفارِ قریش کے سردار گھبرا گئے اور ابن الدغنہ کو بلوا بھیجا۔ اس نے آ کر کہا: ہم نے حضرت ابوبکر کو اس شرط پر امان دی تھی کہ وہ گھر کے اندر عبادت کریں گے مگر انہوں نے حد سے تجاوز کیا، صحن میں نماز گاہ بنا لی اور اعلانیہ نماز اور تلاوت شروع کر دی۔ ہمیں ڈر ہے کہ ہمارے بچے اور عورتیں فتنے میں پڑ جائیں۔ اگر وہ گھر کے اندر عبادت پر اکتفا کریں تو ٹھیک، ورنہ ان سے کہو اپنی امان واپس کر دیں۔ ہم تمہاری امان توڑنا نہیں چاہتے مگر اعلان بھی برداشت نہیں کریں گے۔ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے فرمایا: ابن الدغنہ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے پاس آیا اور کہا: آپ جانتے ہیں کس شرط پر میرا آپ سے عہد تھا۔ اب یا تو اس شرط کی حد میں رہیں یا میری امان واپس کر دیں۔ میں نہیں چاہتا کہ عرب میں یہ بات پھیلے کہ میں نے جسے امان دی تھی اس کی امان توڑی گئی۔ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: میں تمہاری امان واپس کرتا ہوں اور اللہ کی امان پر راضی ہوں۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ان دنوں مکہ مکرمہ ہی میں تشریف فرما تھے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: مجھے تمہاری ہجرت کا مقام دکھلایا گیا ہے۔ میں نے ایک نمکین زمین دیکھی ہے جہاں کھجور کے باغات ہیں اور وہ دو سیاہ پتھریلے میدانوں کے درمیان ہے۔ جب آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اس کا ذکر فرمایا تو مسلمانوں نے مدینہ کی طرف ہجرت شروع کر دی اور بعض صحابہ جو حبشہ ہجرت کر چکے تھے وہ بھی مدینہ آ گئے۔ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بھی ہجرت کی تیاری کرنے لگے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ٹھہرو! مجھے امید ہے کہ مجھے بھی اجازت مل جائے گی۔ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: میرے ماں باپ آپ پر فدا ہوں! کیا واقعی آپ کو اس کی امید ہے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں! چنانچہ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا انتظار کرنے لگے تاکہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ہمراہ ہجرت کریں اور اپنی دو اونٹنیوں کو چار ماہ تک ببول کے پتے کھلاتے رہے۔
