حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ كَانَ الْفَضْلُ رَدِيفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَجَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمَ، فَجَعَلَ الْفَضْلُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهَا وَتَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ، وَجَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَصْرِفُ وَجْهَ الْفَضْلِ إِلَى الشِّقِّ الآخَرِ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ فِي الْحَجِّ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا، لاَ يَثْبُتُ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ، أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ قَالَ " نَعَمْ ". وَذَلِكَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ.
English Translation
It is narrated by Hadrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) that Hadrat Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) was riding behind the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) during the Farewell Pilgrimage. A woman from the tribe of Khath'am came. Hadrat Fadl (may Allah be well pleased with him) began looking at her and she was looking at him. The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) kept turning Hadrat Fadl's face to the other side. The woman submitted, 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! The obligation of Hajj from Allah upon His servants has become due upon my father, but he is very old and cannot sit firm upon a mount. May I perform Hajj on his behalf?' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, 'Yes.' This incident occurred during the Farewell Pilgrimage.
Urdu Translation
ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہمیں امام مالک رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ نے خبر دی، انہیں ابن شہاب نے، ان سے سلیمان بن یسار نے اور ان سے حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ حضرت فضل بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما (حجۃ الوداع میں) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی سواری کے پیچھے بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔ اتنے میں قبیلۂ خثعم کی ایک عورت آئی۔ حضرت فضل رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ اس کو دیکھنے لگے اور وہ بھی انہیں دیکھ رہی تھی۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم حضرت فضل رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کا چہرہ بار بار دوسری طرف پھیر دیتے تھے۔ اس عورت نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اللہ تعالیٰ کا فریضۂ حج میرے والد پر واجب ہو چکا ہے لیکن وہ بہت بوڑھے ہیں اور سواری پر بیٹھ نہیں سکتے، کیا میں ان کی طرف سے حج کر سکتی ہوں؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں۔ یہ حجۃ الوداع کا واقعہ ہے۔
