قَالَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ فَأَتَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَيْتَ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ فَطَافَ بِهِ وَكَانَ عِنْدَ الْبَيْتِ صَنَمَانِ أَحَدُهُمَا مِنْ نُحَاسِ يُقَالُ لِأَحَدِهِمَا يَسَافٌ وَلِلْآخَرِ نَائِلَةٌ وَكَانَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ إِذَا طَافُوا تَمَسَّحُوا بِهِمَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَمْسَحْهُمَا فَإِنَّهُمَا رِجْسٌ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ فِي نَفْسِي لَأَمْسَحَنَّهُمَا حَتَّى أَنْظُرَ مَا يَقُولُ فَمَسَحْتُهُمَا فَقَالَ يَا زَيْدُ أَلَمْ تُنْهَهُ قَالَ وَأُنْزِلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَمَاتَ زَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُبْعَثُ أُمَّةً وَحْدَهُ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عِنْدَ الْبَيْتِ صَنَمَانِ أَحَدُهُمَا مِنْ نُحَاسِ يُقَالُ لِأَحَدِهِمَا يَسَافٌ وَلِلْآخَرِ نَائِلَةٌ وَكَانَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ إِذَا طَافُوا تَمَسَّحُوا بِهِمَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَمْسَحْهُمَا فَإِنَّهُمَا رِجْسٌ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ فِي نَفْسِي لَأَمْسَحَنَّهُمَا حَتَّى أَنْظُرَ مَا يَقُولُ فَمَسَحْتُهُمَا فَقَالَ يَا زَيْدُ أَلَمْ تُنْهَهُ قَالَ وَأُنْزِلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَمَاتَ زَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُبْعَثُ أُمَّةً وَحْدَهُ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ
English Translation
Zayd ibn Harithah said: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to the House (Ka'bah) and I was with him. He circumambulated it, and near the House were two idols, one of copper, one called Isaf and the other Na'ilah. The polytheists used to touch them when they circumambulated. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not touch them, for they are impure (rijs)." I said to myself: I will surely touch them to see what he will say. So I touched them, and he said: "O Zayd, were you not forbidden?" He said: Then revelation came down upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: And Zayd ibn Amr died, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "He will be resurrected as a nation by himself." This hadith - we do not know of anyone who narrated it from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) except Zayd ibn Harithah with this chain.
