أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَقِيهُ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِهَا أنبأ أَبُو النَّضْرٍ الْفَقِيهُ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْهَادِ أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُنَيْسٍ قَالَ كُنَّا بِالْبَادِيَةِ فَقُلْنَا إِنْ قَدِمْنَا بِأَهْلِينَا ��َقَّ عَلَيْنَا وَإِنْ خَلَّفْنَاهُمْ أَصَابَتْهُمْ ضِيقَةٌ قَالَ فَبَعَثُونِي وَكُنْتُ أَصْغَرَهُمْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ قَوْلَهُمْ فَأَمَرَنَا بِلَيْلَةِ ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ قَالَ ابْنُ الْهَادِ فَكَانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ يَجْتَهِدُ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ
English Translation
'Abdullah ibn Unays said: 'We were in the desert and we said: If we come with our families, it will be difficult, and if we leave them behind, they will face hardship. So they sent me — and I was the youngest among them — to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). I mentioned their words to him, and he commanded us to observe the night of the twenty-third.' Ibn al-Had said: 'Muhammad ibn Ibrahim used to exert himself in worship on that night.'
