كَمَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ فُورَكٍ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ خَيْثَمَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ الْوَادِعِيِّ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَمَسْرُوقٌ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ أَوْ قَالَ دَخَلْنَا عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْنَا يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنَّ فِينَا رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَمَّا أَحَدُهُمَا فَيُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُؤَخِّرُ السُّحُورَ وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَيُؤَخِرُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُعَجِّلُ السُّحُورَ فَقَالَتْ مَنْ هَذَا الَّذِي يُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُؤَخِّرُ السُّحُورَ؟ قُلْنَا ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَتْ كَذَلِكَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَهَكَذَا
English Translation
Abu Atiyyah al-Wadi'i said: 'Masruq and I entered upon Aisha and said: "O Mother of the Believers, there are two men among us from the Companions of the Prophet. One of them hastens breaking the fast and delays the suhoor, and the other delays breaking the fast and hastens the suhoor." She said: "Which one hastens breaking the fast and delays the suhoor?" We said: "Ibn Mas'ud." She said: "This is how the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to do."'
