أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ أنبأ قَبِيصَةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُقْبَةَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ كُنَّا نُعْطِي زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ زَمَنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ 7730 أَخْبَرَنَاهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا تَمْتَامٌ ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ فَذَكَرَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ كُنَّا نُعْطِي عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ صَاعًا مِنْ زَبِيبٍ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ مُعَاوِيَةُ وَجَاءَتِ السَّمْرَاءُ عَدَلَهُ النَّاسُ بِمُدَّيْنِ حِنْطَةٍ
English Translation
Abu Zakariyya Yahya ibn Ibrahim informed us... from Abu Sa'id who said: 'We used to give zakah al-fitr in the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) as a sa' of food or a sa' of barley or a sa' of dried curd.' 7730: Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Abdan informed us... with a similar chain but said: 'We used to give in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) a sa' of food, a sa' of dates, a sa' of barley, a sa' of raisins, a sa' of dried curd. When Mu'awiyah came and the brown wheat arrived, the people equated it with two mudds of wheat.'
