وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلُ الْقَطَّانُ أنبأ أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا أَبُو يَعْقُوبَ إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ الْحَرْبِيُّ ثنا الرِّيَاحِيُّ يَعْنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ بُجَيْرِ بْنِ أَبِي بُجَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ؓ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ أَوْ مَسِيرٍ فَمَرُّوا بِقَبْرٍ فَقَالَ هَذَا قَبْرُ أَبِي رِغَالٍ كَانَ مِنْ قَوْمِ ثَمُودَ فَلَمَّا أَهْلَكَ اللهُ قَوْمَهُ بِمَا أَهْلَكَهُمْ بِهِ مَنَعَهُ لِمَكَانِهِ مِنَ الْحَرَمِ فَخَرَجَ حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ هَذَا الْمَكَانَ أَوِ الْمَوْضِعَ مَاتَ وَدُفِنَ مَعَهُ غُصْنٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَابْتَدَرْنَاهُ فَأَخْرَجْنَاهُ
English Translation
And Abu al-Husayn ibn al-Fadl al-Qattan informed us... from Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that they were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on a journey, and they passed by a grave. He said: 'This is the grave of Abu Righal. He was from the people of Thamud. When Allah destroyed his people with what He destroyed them, the sanctuary protected him on account of his being in it. When he left it and reached this place, he died. A branch of gold was buried with him.' So we rushed to it and extracted it.
