أَخْبَرَنَا السَّيِّدُ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْعَلَوِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو حَامِدِ بْنُ الشَّرْقِيِّ ثنا أَبُو الْأَزْهَرِ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ثنا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِسْحَاقَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ بُجَيْرِ بْنِ أَبِي بُجَيْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ حِينَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ إِلَى الطَّائِفِ فَمَرَرْنَا بِقَبْرٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هَذَا قَبْرُ أَبِي فُلَانٍ وَكَانَ بِهَذَا الْحَرَمِ يَدْفَعُ بِهِ عَنْهُ فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ أَصَابَتْهُ النِّقْمَةُ الَّتِي أَصَابَتْ قَوْمَهُ بِهَذَا الْمَكَانِ فَدُفِنَ فِيهِ وَآيَةُ ذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ دُفِنَ مَعَهُ غُصْنٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ إِنْ أَنْتُمْ نَبَشْتُمْ عَنْهُ وَجَدْتُمُوهُ مَعَهُ فَابْتَدَرَهُ النَّاسُ فَاسْتَخْرَجُوا مِنْهُ الْغُصْنَ
English Translation
Al-Sayyid Abu al-Hasan Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Alawi informed us... from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say when we went out with him to Ta'if, and we passed by a grave: 'This is the grave of Abu so-and-so. He was in this sanctuary, which protected him. When he left it, the punishment that struck his people struck him at this place, and he was buried here. The sign of that is that a branch of gold was buried with him. If you dig him up, you will find it with him.' The people rushed to it and extracted the gold branch.
