English Translation
Abu al-Husayn ibn al-Fadl al-Qattan in Baghdad informed us, from Abdullah ibn Ja'far, from Ya'qub ibn Sufyan, from Sa'id ibn Abi Maryam, from al-Darawardi, from Khuthaym ibn Irak ibn Malik, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) went out and appointed Siba' ibn Urfutah over Madinah. Abu Hurayrah said: I came to Madinah as an emigrant and prayed the morning prayer behind Siba'. He recited Surah Maryam in the first rak'ah and "Woe to the defrauders" [Surah al-Mutaffifin] in the second. Abu Hurayrah said: I said, "Woe to so-and-so" - referring to a man in the land of al-Azd who had two measures: one with which he measured for himself and one with which he shortchanged the people.
