English Translation
Abu Nasr informed us... from Ibrahim al-Nakha'i that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) led the people in Maghrib prayer and did not recite anything until he gave the salutation. When he finished, it was said to him: You did not recite anything. He said: I was arranging a trade caravan to Syria, so I was placing it stop by stop until I reached Syria and sold it with its saddles, blankets, and loads. So Umar repeated the prayer and they repeated.
