أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ الْمَالِينِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ثنا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ صَحِبَهُ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ؓ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ النَّذْرُ نَذْرَانِ فَمَا كَانَ مِنْ نَذْرٍ فِي طَاعَةِ اللهِ فَذَلِكَ لَكَ وَفِيهِ الْوَفَاءُ وَمَا كَانَ مِنْ نَذْرٍ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ فَذَلِكَ لِلشَّيْطَانِ وَلَا وَفَاءَ فِيهِ فَيُكَفِّرُهُ مَا يُكَفِّرُ الْيَمِينَ وَقِيلَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
English Translation
Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Vows are of two types. Whatever vow is made in obedience to Allah, that is for you and must be fulfilled. Whatever vow is made in disobedience to Allah, that is for Satan and has no fulfillment, but its expiation is the expiation of an oath.
