أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ح قَالَ وَأنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدوسٍ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ قَالَا ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا وُهَيْبٌ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ وَلَوْ كَانَ شَيْءٌ سَابِقَ الْقَدَرِ سَبَقَتْهُ الْعَيْنُ وَإِذَا اسْتُغْسِلْتُمْ فَاغْسِلُوا
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us: Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq narrated to us: Ali ibn Abd al-Aziz reported to us — (H) — he said: And Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abdus reported to us: Uthman ibn Sa'id al-Darimi narrated to us; they said: Muslim ibn Ibrahim narrated to us: Wuhayb narrated to us, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: "The [evil] eye is real (haqq); and were anything to precede the divine decree, the eye would precede it. And when you are asked to wash [for it], then wash."
