أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ أُخْتِ عُكَّاشَةَ بْنِ مِحْصَنٍ الْأَسَدِيَّةِ قَالَتْ دَخَلْتُ بِابْنٍ لِي عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَدْ أَعْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِ أَوْ قَالَ عَنْهُ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ قَالَ عَلَامَ تَدْغَرْنَ أَوْلَادَكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعِلَاقِ؟ عَلَيْكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ شِفَاءً مِنْ سَبْعَةِ أَشْفِيَةٍ يُسْعَطُ بِهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ وَيُلَدُّ بِهِ مِنْ ذَاتِ الْجَنْبِ
English Translation
Abu al-Husayn ibn Bishran informed us, Isma'il ibn Muhammad al-Saffar informed us, Sa'dan ibn Nasr narrated to us, Sufyan ibn Uyaynah narrated to us from al-Zuhri, from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah, from Umm Qays bint Mihsan, the sister of Ukkashah ibn Mihsan al-Asadiyyah, who said: "I entered upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) with a son of mine whom I had treated by pressing on his uvula - or she said 'for an inflamed uvula.' He said: 'Why do you press on the uvulas of your children with this treatment? You should use this Indian aloes-wood, for in it there are seven cures. It is inhaled through the nose for inflamed uvulas and administered orally for pleurisy.'"
