أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمَعْرُوفِ الْفَقِيهُ الْإِسْفِرَايِينِيُّ بِهَا ثنا أَبُو سَهْلٍ بِشْرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْإِسْفِرَايِينِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ أنبأ زُهَيْرٌ أنبأ أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ ؓ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَذْبَحُوا إِلَّا مُسِنَّةً إِلَّا إِنْ تَعَسَّرَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَذْبَحُوا جَذَعَةً مِنَ الضَّأْنِ
English Translation
Abu al-Hasan Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Abi al-Ma'ruf the jurist al-Isfara'ini informed us there, Abu Sahl Bishr ibn Ahmad al-Isfara'ini narrated to us, Ahmad ibn al-Hasan ibn Abd al-Jabbar narrated to us, Ali ibn al-Madini narrated to us, Zuhayr informed us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not slaughter anything except a musinnah (two-year-old or older), unless it is difficult for you, in which case you may slaughter a young ewe from the sheep."
