أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَالِينِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ الْحَافِظُ ثنا عَبْدَانُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَزِيدَ وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو هَمَّامٍ عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ الرَّجُلَ مِنَّا يَذْبَحُ وَيَنْسَى أَنْ يُسَمِّيَ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ اسْمُ اللهِ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ عَامَّةُ حَدِيثِ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ سَالِمٍ مِمَّا لَا يُتَابِعُهُ الثِّقَاتُ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ مَرْوَانُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ الْجَزَرِيُّ ضَعِيفٌ ضَعَّفَهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ وَالْبُخَارِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُمَا وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مُنْكَرٌ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ
English Translation
Jabir narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) sent a military expedition toward the coast led by Abu Ubaydah. They ran out of provisions and the sea cast a dead whale called al-anbar. They ate from it for half a month. Abu Ubaydah took one of its ribs and set it upright, and a rider could pass beneath it. When they returned and told the Prophet, he said: It is provision that Allah brought forth for you. Do you have any of its meat? They fed him some and he ate it.
