أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَتَّابٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ثنا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ فَذَكَرَ هَذِهِ الْقِصَّةَ قَالَ فِيهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَيْلُ امِّهِ مِسْعَرَ حَرْبٍ لَوْ كَانَ مَعَهُ أَحَدٌ وَجَاءَ أَبُو بَصِيرٍ بِسَلَبِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ خَمِّسْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ إِنِّي إِذَا خَمَّسْتُهُ لَمْ أُوْفِ لَهُمْ بِالَّذِي عَاهَدْتُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَلَكِنْ شَأْنُكَ بِسَلَبِ صَاحِبِكَ وَاذْهَبْ حَيْثُ شِئْتَ فَخَرَجَ أَبُو بَصِيرٍ مَعَهُ خَمْسَةُ نَفَرٍ كَانُوا قَدِمُوا مَعَهُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ حَتَّى كَانُوا بَيْنَ الْعِيصِ وَذِي الْمَرْوَةِ مِنْ أَرْضِ جُهَيْنَةَ عَلَى طَرِيقِ عِيرَاتِ قُرَيْشٍ مِمَّا يَلِي سِيفَ الْبَحْرِ لَا يَمُرُّ بِهِمْ عِيرٌ لِقُرَيْشٍ إِلَّا أَخَذُوهَا وَقَتَلُوا أَصْحَابَهَا وَانْفَلَتَ أَبُو جَنْدَلِ بْنُ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو فِي سَبْعِينَ رَاكِبًا أَسْلَمُوا وَهَاجَرُوا فَلَحِقُوا بِأَبِي بَصِيرٍ وَكَرِهُوا أَنْ يَقْدَمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي هُدْنَةِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ بِمَعْنَى مَا تَقَدَّمَ وَأَتَمَّ مِنْهُ
English Translation
Musa ibn Uqbah narrated a similar account, in which the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said about Abu Basir: Woe to his mother, a kindler of war, if only he had men with him! Abu Basir brought the spoils to the Messenger of Allah and said: Take the fifth, O Messenger of Allah. He said: If I take the fifth, I will not have fulfilled what I agreed with them. But the spoils of your companion are yours; go wherever you wish. Abu Basir went out with five Muslims and settled between al-Is and Dhu al-Marwah in the land of Juhaynah on the route of Quraysh's caravans. Abu Jandal ibn Suhayl escaped with seventy riders who had accepted Islam, and they joined Abu Basir, refusing to come to the Messenger of Allah during the truce.
