أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْبَخْتَرِيِّ الرَّزَّازُ ثنا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ وَعَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ قَالَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَإِذَا قَالُوهَا مَنَعُوا مِنِّي دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللهِ
English Translation
Abu al-Husayn ibn Bishran al-Adl in Baghdad informed us > Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Amr ibn al-Bakhtari al-Razzaz > Abbas ibn Muhammad > Ya'la ibn Ubayd > al-A'mash > Abu Sufyan > Jabir, and > Abu Salih > Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who both said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they say 'There is no god but Allah.' If they say it, they protect their blood and wealth from me, except by its right, and their reckoning is with Allah."
