أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَدِيبُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى أنبأ أَبُو يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ وَالْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ ح قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ وَحَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ثنا ابْنُ الْغَسِيلِ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ حِينَ صَفَّنَا لِقُرَيْشٍ وَصَفُّوا لَنَا إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ هَذَا لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ الْفَضْلِ وَقَالَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ يَعْنِي أَكْثَرُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ وَاسْتَبْقُوا نَبْلَكُمْ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصَّحِيحُ إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ
English Translation
Abu Amr Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Adib informed us, from Abu Bakr al-Isma'ili, from Ibrahim ibn Musa, from Abu Yahya ibn Abd al-Rahim, from Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri, from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Ghasil, from Hamzah ibn Abi Usayd and al-Mundhir ibn Abi Usayd; and from Harun ibn Abdullah, from al-Fadl ibn Dukayn, from Ibn al-Ghasil, from Hamzah ibn Abi Usayd, from his father who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said on the day of Badr, when he lined us up against Quraysh and they lined up against us: When they come close to you (akhthabukum), shoot them with arrows. This is the wording of al-Fadl's narration. Abu Ahmad's narration says: When they overwhelm you, shoot them with arrows and conserve your arrows. Abu Bakr said: The correct reading is 'akhthabukum' (when they come close).
