أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ الْعَامِرِيُّ ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ثنا عَبْدُ الْمُؤْمِنِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ثنا نَجْدَةُ بْنُ نُفَيْعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اسْتَنْفَرَ حَيًّا مِنَ الْعَرَبِ فَتَثَاقَلُوا فَنَزَلَتْ {إِلَّا تَنْفِرُوا يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا} [التوبة 39] قَالَ كَانَ عَذَابُهُمْ حَبْسَ الْمَطَرِ عَنْهُمْ
English Translation
Discussion of the status of the souls of the martyrs — they are alive with their Lord, sustained and joyful, as stated in the Quran: "Do not think of those killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, well provided for" (3:169).
