English Translation
Abu Ali al-Rudhbari informed us... from Jabir bin Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said in his farewell sermon: Fear Allah regarding women, for you have taken them as a trust from Allah and intimacy with them has been made lawful to you by the word of Allah. You have the right over them that they should not allow anyone you dislike to sit on your furnishings. If they do that, then discipline them but not severely. They have the right to their provision and clothing in accordance with what is reasonable.
