أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ وأَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ قَالَا نا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْقَطَّانُ نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ نا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ نا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُخْتَارِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَأَصَابَ النَّاسَ عَطَشٌ فَنَزَلَ مَنْزِلًا فَجَعَلَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَقُولُونَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْرَبْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْرَبْ فَقَالَ سَاقِي الْقَوْمِ آخِرُهُمْ سَاقِي الْقَوْمِ آخِرُهُمْ
English Translation
Abu Tahir the jurist and Abu Muhammad bin Yusuf informed us... from Abdullah bin Abi Awfa, who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) was on a journey and the people became thirsty. They stopped at a place and the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) kept saying: O Messenger of Allah, drink! O Messenger of Allah, drink! He said: The server of the people is the last of them to drink. The server of the people is the last of them to drink.
