حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَوْ عَنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ شَكَّ الْأَعْمَشُ قَالَ يُقَالُ لِصَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ اقْرَهْ وَارْقَهْ فَإِنَّ مَنْزِلَتَكَ عِنْدَ آخِرِ آيَةٍ تَقْرَؤُهَا.
English Translation
Waki' narrated to us, he said: al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah or from Abu Sa'id — al-A'mash was uncertain — who said: It will be said to the companion of the Qur'an on the Day of Resurrection: 'Recite and ascend, for your rank will be at the last verse you recite.'
